Several Hawkins County Schools have been awarded grants from the TN Arts Commission (TAC) for the 2024-25 school year. TAC makes grant funds available through application process for schools to attend a field trip or have an artist come to their school. The lively Farmer Jason who recently visited Bulls Gap School got students of all ages involved in the show. “Without the assistance of the TN Arts Commission, our school would not be able to provide an event like this for our students. The students had a blast with Farmer Jason,” shared Kristen Riley, Librarian who spearheaded the event.
Students from Mt. Carmel Elementary and Surgoinsville Elementary Schools were able to see a play at the Barter Theatre in December. Students from Carters Valley Elementary and Rogersville Middle School will attend events in May. We are appreciative to the TN Arts Commission for giving our students this gift,” said Hope Malone, Elementary Supervisor.
