Parents and guardians, we will be fully enforcing our cell phone expectations, particularly at the high school level this school year, beginning August 5. As a reminder, we did not allow cell phone use in classrooms last year. This year, we will move to not allow cell phones to be used during school. This is in accordance with Board Policy 6.312, which states, “Middle school students’ cell phones and other electronic devices are to be turned off and not visible upon a student’s arrival to school (upon entering the school building) until the end of the student’s school day. High school students are not permitted to use cell phones during or between classes unless it is for academic purposes, under direct supervision of a classroom teacher.”
